In 2022, the iconic Bear celebrates its 70th anniversary. To mark this milestone, we introduce The Reworked Bears, featuring a special 70th-anniversary stamp on the paw and packaged in a limited-edition wooden anniversary box. The Small Bear, measuring 14.5 cm, stays true to Kay Bojesen’s original design while embracing sustainability.

Crafted exclusively from residual wood, each Reworked Bear is unique, with its appearance reflecting the available wood on the day of production. Handmade with care, these Bears are created using the same traditional methods as in 1952, when the friendly Bear first greeted the world with open arms.

Kay Bojesen found inspiration for the design in a cub named Ursula, who was temporarily cared for by the Copenhagen Zoo manager after being too small to live with the older bears.

The Reworked Bear reinterprets this timeless design with upcycled wood, combining design heritage, sustainability, and modern innovation. This thoughtful craftsmanship brings out new and surprising details in the Bear’s iconic form, making it a true collector’s item with a rich story and a unique look.
